Jennifer Jennings, based in Long Beach, California, became an Avery Certified Clinician through extensive training courses engineered by the world-renowned inventor, Chase Hughes. Driven by an interest in protecting people, property, and the environment, Jennifer joined and served on active duty with the United States Coast Guard in 2005. She deployed to the Middle East for Operation Enduring Freedom, was inducted as Sailor of the Year in 2007, and earned the Coast Guard Achievement Medal before transitioning to the reserves in 2012. In 2015, Jennifer graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Policy and was honorably discharged as a Marine Science Technician in 2019.

From 2008 to 2019, Jennifer worked as a pollution responder and investigator for oil and hazardous material discharges in Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach’s Incident Management Division, overseeing the initial response to more than 100 pollution incidents and completing 21 federal enforcement cases in the largest port complex in the country. Since 2016, Jennifer has led as the Senior Manager of Health, Safety, and Environment at one of the largest full-service marine terminals in North America. As the primary point of contact, she upholds positive relations and interfaces with all local, state, and federal law enforcement, emergency management, port complex terminal operators, and Union officials. As an on-call 24-hour first responder for all high-severity incidents, Jennifer maintains regulatory compliance with all safety and environmental requirements subject to company policy and governmental regulations and develops and administers safety and environmental programs and training for all terminal operations.

Jonam was raised in a cult and immersed in coercive control mechanisms for the first 20 years of his life.

Natural curiosity led him to dig deeper into psychology, behavior, and influence, which helped him to recognise the manipulation tactics and, ultimately, escape the organization which had indoctrinated him from birth.

It became obvious to Jonam that he was uniquely situated to learn how he could use the mechanisms of influence to evict tyrannical influences from his mind and reclaim authorship of his future, so that he could then help others to do the same..

The ongoing search for the most cutting-edge and powerful tools that can be used in extreme circumstances brought him inevitably to Chase’s body of work, and now his focus as an Avery Certified Clinician is helping clients push the boundaries of what they thought possible in the pursuit of self-authorship.

Jonam began his journey with mastering NLP and hypnotherapy, teaching hypnosis workshops and working 1:1 with clients around the world since 2016.

He has been working with Chase / ABR / NCI as an instructor since 2019, has taught hypnosis, cult de-indoctrination, and counter-coercion workshops for ABR / NCI / Mastery / Grad School, and narrated both the 6MX and Ellipsis Manual audiobooks.

Keith Ray “Mackie” Mackie is a skilled counselor based in Springfield, MO, with a remarkable journey in the field of behavioral coaching and advocacy. In 2022, as the world emerged from the dreaded COVID shutdowns, Mackie was an accomplished counselor working tirelessly within a hospital, dedicating over 60 hours a week while many were confined at home watching YouTube. During this time, Mackie’s wife, Marcia, discovered The Behavior Panel (TBP) and encouraged him to attend TBP’s Live Event in Las Vegas in July 2022.

“You should go meet those guys. You will like them,” she said, “they ‘see’ things…like you.”

At the TBP Live Event, through the team’s generosity and good fortune, Mackie invested a year learning from Chase and the other three members of The Behavior Panel. In 2023, Chase invited Mackie into the mastery course, now known as the NCI Grad School. Now, two years later, Mackie is grateful to join Chase, the NCI team, and those on this journey. He looks forward to the shared journey ahead.

The path to becoming an NCI Coach was paved by the skills and systems of instruction that Chase has made available through Applied Behavior Research and Neuro Cognitive Intelligence University. Before transitioning into NCI coaching, Mackie worked as a licensed professional counselor for over three decades. He currently serves as the President of the Missouri Network Against Child Abuse, an organization dedicated to empowering adults to protect children from abuse. This organization oversees 15 child advocacy centers in Missouri, helping facilitate evidentiary processes for over 10,000 children a year who are victims or witnesses, ensuring they can testify in court in a developmentally appropriate way.

Merlin O’Brecht has been working with Chase Hughes to become an Avery Clinician since 2022. He recalls sitting in Chase’s office and asking if Chase would teach him the Avery process—at the time, Chase had never taught it to anyone else. From that day, Chase set Merlin on a path to master neuroscience, microbiology, and hypnosis, while continuing his studies in authority, behavior profiling, and influence. Chase set a high bar for Merlin to achieve, but Merlin was determined to climb the mountain. Since then, Merlin has spent thousands of hours studying everything Chase recommended. Merlin has always loved challenges, as seen in his climb of Cotopaxi at 19 and years of training with professional and world-champion Muay Thai fighters.

His drive for growth is rooted in a childhood spent in the woods with no electricity, alongside a pack of sled dogs, and summers roofing with his father. In his early twenties, Merlin planted thousands of saplings daily for ten cents a tree, later working seven days a week as a roofer through harsh winters and scorching summers. This past gives Merlin deep gratitude for the position he is in today and fuels his commitment to be the absolute best. Helping others, philosophy, and human behavior are Merlin’s greatest passions. Merlin is a behavioral scientist, philosopher, and accomplished entrepreneur. Following his  studies of liberal arts at Heritage College, Merlin founded his own metal roofing company,  Merlin’s Roofing Corp. His company quickly became well known throughout Canada, the US,  and Europe for its outstanding quality and workmanship. Merlin studied with German masters  including Peter Steetz. He brought European guild techniques that employ a level  craftsmanship which allows copper metal roofs to last for centuries without maintenance to  Canada. Merlin is regarded by many as one Chase Hughe’s greatest pupils, achieving every certification  level within Chase’s company NCI University. Merlin was among the first to achieve a Red Belt  title from Chase for his mastery of behavior influence formulas and unparalleled skills in  behavior profiling. He is certified to the level of NCI-4 Author, and was one of the only people to  edit the Behavior Ops Manual for content, rather than grammar or spelling. Merlin is mentioned  in the Special Thanks section at the end of the Ops Manual for the passages and content he  wrote which were included in the book such as the Sigma Protocol. Continuing his work with  Chase, Merlin was named Dean of Admissions for NCI University, after which he began work  on leading a team to create the NCI exams.

Merlin is currently one of only two people who  have been awarded the distinguishment of NCI Coach, where he teaches authority, profiling,  and influence to students in NCI Grad School. Even prior to beginning a career in law enforcement, Sue was always fascinated with human behavior and body language. As a police officer, she quickly recognized the advantages of having some knowledge on these topics and compiled quite a collection of books and articles building her own “library”, but it was missing a critical link between theory and real-world application.

Everything changed when Sue attended Chase’s training. It was a life-altering experience where she discovered her “library” didn’t provide the skills necessary to actually apply the principles in real time, the ability to change an outcome or actually help someone. That training was a game-changer, and she dedicated herself to learning the skills to influence, guide, and persuade people to favorable results.

ESue has spent her professional life being “of service” to others as a police officer, detective, and a law enforcement instructor. Becoming a certified Avery clinician is truly the top tier of service to others and aligns with her motto of “leaving others better than you found them.”

Sue’s professional background includes almost 30 years as a police officer, detective, and training officer. Her training and teaching experience began at the police department where she trained new police recruits and was the lead instructor for all officers in defensive tactics and non-lethal weapons. It was during her 20+ years as a tactical instructor where she gained a greater understanding of how effective communication was remarkably more powerful than any fighting maneuver or technique. Intrigued by the possibilities of using words to influence and persuade people, Sue dove into all forms of communication as well as psychology and human behavior completing numerous training courses including verbal judo and de-escalation training. All of this information and training was beneficial but was only a few small pieces of the human puzzle.

Sue retired from the police department and began her second career as a law enforcement instructor, while continuing to pursue learning and studying human behavior. After years in NCI Grad School and completing training like the Black Course, Sue discovered that theories, models, and concepts prove inadequate when confidence, authority, and skills are lacking. Retiring again, Sue devoted herself to developing her skills, helping the NCI community, and earning a few NCI certifications in the process. Chase selected Sue to run the Tactical Behavioral Science Unit and most recently, she was chosen to oversee the Avery Program. Sue described those who attended the Avery training as “a select group of the most talented, intelligent, and gifted people I have ever experienced in one room.”
